Weekly stock release for verified trade buyers.

We buy cabs and fleet vehicles across the UK as a specialist buyer. The cleanest stock goes to a vetted UK trade network every Monday. PCO hybrids and Hackney are the backbone, but it's not all cabs: ex-fleet, ex-rental, expired-plate retail stock, WAV conversions, and light commercial all hit the list too. Pre-inspected, finance settled, plate-stripped where applicable, V5C clear.

What's on the list

Six categories that hit the weekly release.

Roughly half PCO hybrids, the rest split across premium PHV, Hackney, WAV-converted, ex-fleet retail stock, and light commercial. Volumes are honest estimates from our 2024 to 2026 intake.

PCO Prius + Corolla Hybrid

Mk3, Mk4 and Plug-in Prius. Corolla Hybrid hatch, Touring Sports, saloon. Average intake 50 to 80 cars a month.

Premium PHV

Audi A6 / A4, BMW 3 / 5 Series, Mercedes E-Class. Diesel + plug-in hybrid. Chauffeur-spec where applicable.

LEVC TX + Hackney

TX4, TXE (electric), TX (current). Mostly London-plated, mileage 80,000 to 320,000. Continental black-cab demand built in.

WAV-converted vehicles

Mercedes Vito, VW Caddy, Peugeot E-Rifter conversions. Tail-lift + ramp specifications. NHS, council, private operator decommissions.

Ex-fleet + non-PCO retail stock

Not every car on the list is a licensed cab. Ex-rental fleets, ex-corporate, expired-plate vehicles back on the retail market, and trade-in stock that didn't fit a dealer's forecourt. Same prep, same paperwork standard, different downstream buyer.

Vans + light commercial

Ford Transit, VW Transporter, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic. End-of-life utility and last-mile fleet decommissions. Service history and plated weights documented.

Why buy from us

Trade-grade prep, not auction theatre.

Auction houses skim 8 to 12 percent and pass mechanical surprises straight through. Generalist dealers buy retail, mark up retail, and the trade margin collapses. We sit between the two, handling the prep so you take ownership clean.

Pre-inspected, no surprises

Every car runs through an in-house inspection before it hits the trade list. Mileage verified against MOT history. Mechanical issues disclosed up front. No buyer fees ever.

Outstanding finance settled

We settle direct with the lender before stock release. The car is unencumbered on day one. No history-check surprises three weeks later.

Plate-stripped + V5C clear

TfL deplating handled in-house. V5C transferred into our name before listing. You take ownership clean, no missing paperwork to chase.

Collection or delivery

Collect from SellYourCab HQ at Bethnal Green E2 by appointment. Multi-vehicle delivery available across England + Wales at trade rates.

How it works

Apply once. Buy weekly.

  1. Apply

Submit your VAT number, motor trade insurance certificate, trading address, and expected monthly volume. We verify against HMRC + Companies House.

  2. Get verified

the owner or the trade desk reviews each application personally. Approval typically lands in 24 to 48 working hours. We turn down applications without motor trade insurance.

  3. Receive the weekly list

Every Monday morning. Pre-portal: WhatsApp Business broadcast with reg + headline spec + price. Portal launch (Phase 2): full dashboard with photos, MOT, mileage, history.

  4. Reserve, pay, collect

Reservation locked with a 24-hour refundable deposit. Pay balance, collect from HQ or arrange transport. Purchase history saved against your account.

What we expect

We turn down applications that don't meet the basics.

The whole point of a verified trade list is that the buyers on it are trade. We're unbothered about size: a one-person operation gets in on the same terms as a 50-vehicle dealership. The checks are about whether you trade vehicles for a living.

  • VAT registered. We validate the number against HMRC. Sole traders are fine: the VAT + insurance pair is the gate, not the company structure.
  • Motor trade insurance. Current certificate uploaded, road risk minimum. We accept Aviva, AXA, Tradex, Watford Insurance, and most UK motor trade brokers.
  • Companies House (where applicable). Active status, at least one set of filed accounts. Sole traders skip this step.
  • Indicative monthly volume. Honest estimate, used to tier the weekly broadcast. We're happy with 1 vehicle a month or 30, we'd just rather know.

Trade FAQ

Six things buyers ask first.

What does verified mean? What do you actually check?

Three things. Your VAT number is validated against HMRC's check service. Your motor trade insurance certificate is uploaded and inspected (we need to see the cover note, not just a screenshot). Your company is checked on Companies House for active status + at least one filed account. Sole traders are accepted with the same VAT + insurance checks. Verification is manual, not automated, so we know who we're trading with.

Is there a fee to join or a monthly subscription?

No. No joining fee, no monthly subscription, no listing fee on bought stock. We make our margin on the buy-side; verified trade buyers pay the agreed unit price and nothing else.

How many vehicles are typically on the weekly list?

Between 10 and 30 per week, depending on intake. Prius and Corolla Hybrid usually account for half. Premium PHV (Audi / BMW / Mercedes) is 4 to 8. LEVC TX is 1 to 3. WAV-converted, ex-fleet retail and light commercial vehicles run intermittent. When an NHS, council, or rental-fleet decommission lands we'll release 5 to 15 in one batch.

Can I reserve a vehicle before paying in full?

Yes. £200 refundable deposit holds the vehicle for 24 hours so you can arrange transport, inspect in person, or run final finance. If you cancel within 24 hours the deposit comes back. Beyond 24 hours we release the vehicle to the next buyer in the queue.

I'm a UK exporter. Do you sell black cabs for continental shipment?

Yes, LEVC TX4 and TXE are a meaningful share of what we sell to the trade, and a good portion of those go to operators in Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Ireland. We can hold the vehicle pending your shipping window and handle the V5C export paperwork at the point of sale.

Phase 2 portal. When does that launch?

Build is in progress. The current channel is WhatsApp Business broadcast on Monday mornings. The portal adds a full dashboard with photos, MOT history, mileage trajectory, reservation flow, payment, and purchase history. Verified applicants are invited day one once it goes live.
