The Mercedes-Benz models we buy
What we look for in each model.
The honest detail. Mileage ranges we see in our pipeline, common faults at the high end of that range, and how each spec affects the offer.
E-Class (W213, W212)
80,000 to 220,000 miles
Executive PHV staple. E220d (2016 to 2020) is the volume model; E300de (plug-in diesel hybrid, 2019+) commands a premium with corporate chauffeur clients. We see roughly 40 to 60 E-Class per quarter, the highest-margin saloon in our intake.
Common at the high end
Air suspension compressor failure at 150k+ on Avantgarde trim
Adblue sensor codes on diesel models (cheap to clear, not always a structural issue)
Transmission solenoid wear past 180k on heavy-use 9G-Tronic
Vito Tourer + V-Class
60,000 to 200,000 miles
Specialist territory. We buy more Vito Tourer WAV conversions than any other UK trader. Three buyer pools: NHS patient transport, care providers (Anchor, BUPA, individual homes), and executive chauffeur. WAV-converted (Brotherwood, Lewis Reed, Wheelchair Travel) commands a £8,000 to £12,000 premium over the equivalent non-converted vehicle.
Common at the high end
Sliding door cable wear on heavy-use cabs (£400 to £600 to replace)
EGR valve coking on long-life cabs doing motorway-heavy patterns
Rear air suspension bag failure on V-Class (one corner at a time)
EQV (Electric V-Class)
20,000 to 80,000 miles
The electric 8-seater the chauffeur trade has been waiting for. 100 kWh battery, ULEZ-exempt, executive cabin. We pay close to retail-trade because the second-hand market is still thin. Plate-strip handling is straightforward, the EQV is a PHV-favourite in central London zones.
Common at the high end
Charging port flap mechanism (cosmetic, easy fix)
12V auxiliary battery wear, independent of high-voltage pack
What affects your Mercedes-Benz offer
Honest factors. Not all of them are obvious.
WAV conversion adds real value
A Brotherwood or Lewis Reed Vito Tourer conversion adds £8,000 to £12,000 to our offer over a non-converted equivalent. Generalist buyers cannot price WAV correctly because the buyer pool is specialist; we have 30+ active WAV buyers in our network.
Mercedes-Benz main-dealer service
Stars Service contract transfer adds £400 to £800 because the next operator gets remaining services included. Main-dealer (Mercedes-Benz UK) history adds £1,500 to £2,500 over independent service.
Diesel vs plug-in hybrid
ULEZ Zone B expansion in 2026 is pushing pure-diesel E-Class out of central London PHV use. The E300de plug-in hybrid holds value better. Pure diesel still works for non-London PHV (Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh) where licensing is less strict.
Air suspension condition
Working air suspension on a W213 E-Class adds £1,000+. Documented compressor replacement within the last 30,000 miles is a real value-add because it eliminates the most common high-mileage failure mode buyers price against.
Chauffeur-spec options
Cars with the Comand infotainment, rear-seat package, panoramic roof, and partition glass option go faster than equivalents without. Worth £600 to £1,500 collectively at the high end of the market.
Mercedes-Benz market, today
Where Mercedes-Benz prices are right now.
Mercedes-Benz is our highest-margin make at the moment. E-Class plug-in hybrids and EQV electric people-carriers are both trading hot in 2026 because of London ULEZ enforcement plus emerging chauffeur-EV demand. WAV-converted Vito Tourer is a specialty channel: a typical Brotherwood conversion (around £12k retail) means a 2019 Vito Tourer at 120k can clear £18,000 to £23,000 trade in clean condition.
Mercedes-Benz FAQ
Common questions.
I have a WAV-converted Vito Tourer. Who actually buys these?
Three groups: NHS trusts replacing patient-transport fleets, care providers (Anchor Care, BUPA, individual residential homes), and community transport schemes. Our buyer network has 30+ active WAV buyers. We can usually place a clean WAV-converted Vito within 14 days, sometimes faster than a non-converted equivalent because the buyer pool is hungry and the supply is thin.
Does the E-Class need to be on Mercedes finance to sell with you?
No. We buy outright whether the car is on PCP, HP, lease, or owned outright. If there is outstanding finance we settle direct with the lender (Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, Lex Autolease, BlackHorse, etc.) and any equity comes to you on collection day.
My V-Class is on a Mercedes-Benz Stars Service plan. Can I transfer it?
Yes, Stars Service plans transfer with the vehicle as long as the cost is paid up. We handle the paperwork. The plan adds £400 to £800 to the value of the car at our end because the next operator or owner gets remaining services included at the agreed Mercedes-Benz rate rather than retail.
How is the EQV priced compared with a diesel V-Class?
The EQV currently trades £4,000 to £8,000 above a comparable diesel V-Class because the chauffeur EV market is short on supply. That premium will compress as more EQVs return from leases; today, it is a real number we factor into the offer.
